BIU contributes to the training and development of soft skills – SUJIS
The training and development of soft skills, also known as socioemotional or interpersonal skills, is of great importance in today’s world. These skills refer to the abilities that allow us to interact effectively with other people, communicate effectively, work in teams, solve problems, adapt to new situations and show empathy and leadership, among other competencies.
Having this type of skills (soft skills) is relevant and adds competencies that stand out in the labor field, so it is important to start developing them from the professional training process. In fact, nowadays, methodologies and strategies are being developed in the Academy to inculcate them.
At BIU, for example, the SUJIS initiative is maintained, a teaching methodology that promotes skills such as critical thinking and aims to promote the personal and professional progress of students, through the strengthening and optimization of their soft skills with which they can face the competitive world of work that exists today.
These spaces that BIU executes with the help of experts, have three phases: self-discovery, growth and adaptation to the market. They have become a key tool to fulfill the objective of training integral professionals.
BIU recognizes the importance of fostering soft skills among its students for the following reasons:
Improved interpersonal relationships: Soft skills help us to establish positive relationships with others, both personally and professionally. The ability to communicate effectively, listen actively, express our ideas clearly and concisely, and show empathy allows us to build stronger and more productive relationships.
Achieving success in the workplace: The world of work is becoming increasingly collaborative and team-oriented, where soft skills are essential. Employers value skills such as teamwork, leadership, conflict resolution and adaptability, as they are essential for effective job performance.
Increased employability: Soft skills training can make a difference when looking for a job. Companies are looking for candidates who not only have technical skills, but also skills that enable them to work well in a team, communicate clearly and adapt to change. Well-developed soft skills can help you stand out from other candidates and increase job opportunities.
Increased problem-solving effectiveness: Soft skills also play a crucial role in problem solving because of their close relationship to decision making. The ability to think critically, analyze situations from different perspectives, make informed decisions and collaborate with others to find effective solutions are skills that are strengthened with soft skills training and practice.
Adaptability to change: In a constantly changing and evolving world, the ability to adapt is critical. Soft skills, such as flexibility, resilience and the ability to learn continuously, allow us to face challenges and changes more easily and adapt to new situations with agility.
In that sense, they not only complement our technical skills, but also help us stand out and excel in the workplace. To learn more about BIU’s strategies to strengthen and develop soft skills, please visit here.
