BIU University is committed to respect and protect the privacy rights of those individuals who share information with the University through its Websites.  To establish our pledge to honor your trust in this regard, BIU has created this Internet Data Collection Privacy Policy, which describes how the University gathers, uses, and protects the Personal Identifiable Information (PII) from users who visit the its Websites.

The general principle guiding this process is to gather no PII (name, telephone number, mailing address, and email address) about any individual who visit our Websites unless he or she freely choose to share such information with the University.

When a person visits a BIU’s website, our Web server automatically recognizes the Internet domain and IP address from which such a person visited our Website.  This data, which cannot be used to identify the visitor’s personal email address or any other personal information, in addition to date, time, and Website pages browsed, represent the only information gathered during this event.  The purpose of gathering this combined information is to improve de content of the University’s Website and therefore, the visitor’s experience navigating it, and it is not shared with any other organization.

Furthermore, if you choose to provide PII through our Website, by sending a message, or filling out an electronic form to request additional information, we may use the PII to contact the user directly.  The PII may also be used to send the required information and additional information about the University.

It should be note that we will not share visitor’s PII with third commercial parties or government entities unless it is required by state of federal law.  In addition, also note that under Florida law, email addresses are considered public records, therefore, if you do not want you email address released in response to a public records request, we recommend to not sent us any email, but rather contact us by phone or in writing.
